Frequently Asked Questions

How will I know if CBT or EMDR is the right treatment for me?

Prior to booking an appointment, a brief assessment form will be sent to you for me to review. This will enable me to see if we can continue with treatment and full assessment.

How many sessions will I require?

The severity and length of time you have experienced your symptoms for, will determine the number of sessions required. These typically range between 6 to 20 sessions. We would work together on deciding when would be an appropriate time for therapy to end accordingly.

How long does each therapy session take?

Sessions last for 60 minutes including re-booking of next session.

Are my session confidential?

Everything discussed in sessions remains confidential. The only time confidentiality is broken is if I am concerned that you are at risk, either to yourself or to someone else. If this were to happen this would be discussed together and you would be provided information on how to seek further support.

Will you work with my insurance company?

I work with a range of the major insurance companies. Please contact me directly regarding this.

Do you treat under 18's?

I do not treat clients under the age of 18.

Are you insured and what standards do you work to?

I am fully insured with an enhanced CRB check.
I am GDPR and ICO compliant.
I also receive regular supervision (BABCP accredited)

What if I am having suicidal thoughts or feel in crisis?

If you are in crisis and need immediate support you can access this through NHS services: Attending your local A&E, calling 111 or 999. You can contact the Samaritans on 116 123.
